The Presiding bishop and founder of the Living
Faith Church, AKA Winners Chapel
International, Dr David Oyedepo has called on
members of the church to intensify prayers for
the release of the Chibok school girls.
Oyedepo made the call today, Sunday, June 1, in
his first sermon in the month held at Faith
Tabernacle, Ota, the headquaters of the church.
The urgent call for concerted intercessions
tagged 'A battle for the soul of Nigeria,' was
launched last week Sunday and it is to run for 21
days.
According to him, the case of the abducted
Chibok girls is a matter of grave concern and an
assault on the nation and the church of Christ.
"As you may be aware, Chibok is largely a
Christian community and 80-90per cent of these
abducted girls are Christians. This is apart from
thousands of believers and a number of pastors
who have been slain, many during worship
services in churches between 2010 till date. We
must arise and silence this evil group called
boko haram," he stated in a pamphlet to
members of his church.
The pamphlet also reads: "It is high time the
church took spiritual responsibility.
Remember,
God said to Abraham, if He could find ten
righteous men in Sodom, He would spare the
city.
"Therefore, because of the army of saints in
Nigeria and the dominant presence of the
church of Christ, the boko haram terrorist
group shall not succeed to destroy this nation
but shall be destroyed and become totally
extinct in the name of Jesus, the Son of the
Living God."
